This morning ended day 14 of the experiment. Over the weekend I made a few interesting observations about biphasic sleep. These will give you a little insight as to a couple of quirks that come along with a biphasic sleep pattern.
First of all, I went out of town to visit my fiance. As it turns out, significant others aren’t too pleased with the biphasic pattern. She was supportive, but I could tell she missed me at night, so saturday night I stayed with her (and slept for 6 hours). What I found was that it is still easy to revert back to the biphasic pattern the next day. Sunday...
This morning closes day 11 of my biphasic sleep experiment. These last few days have started to feel normal. I’m really enjoying the experiment. I’m getting things done, I have time to do fun things like work out, play sports, play video games, read extracurricularly, and write about it all. Sleep? Who needs it.
I slept a total of 6 hours on day 10, I went to sleep a little early after exhausting myself playing basketball for a few hours. Yesterday, though, was 4.5 hours. I absolutely love it. I don’t think I”m going to have any trouble finishing the 30 days of...
This morning ended day 9 of the experiment. I can honestly say that while I’m not necessarily tired all the time, I do want to sleep all the time. I really miss the warm, cozy feeling of curling up under a blanket and drifting of to dream land. That being said, my productivity has probably doubled due to biphasic sleep.
Yesterday evening I worked out pretty hard. To make up for the extra rest I would need I went to sleep 1.5 hours earlier, at 2:30 am. This allowed me to sleep 4.5 hours overnight instead of the usual 3. It was much needed, and though I still woke up a bit sore, I’m...
This morning ended day 7 of my biphasic sleep experiment. This means I’ve made it through the first of 4 weeks. Here are a few observations I’ve made so far.
It’s easy to get out of bed Monday – Friday when I work at 8 am; Saturday and Sunday were both more difficult, since there is nothing immediately forcing me out of bed.
I definitely enjoy the extra productivity, but it’s almost becoming difficult to fill all the extra time. That’s why I’ve taken on so many new projects, including my newest, contributing for LifeHack.org.
It is much more difficult...
This morning ended day 6. I slept in 2 hours more than I planned, but this was to be expected since I didn’t commit to the 90 minute nap yesterday evening. I went out with an old friend and just never got the chance. Still I’m feeling great about the experiment so far. I’m getting a lot of stuff done.
I’m currently in the process of my project weekend. I did some important reading this morning, and now I’m working on all of my websites. I plan on getting as much done today as I usually get done in an entire weekend. This day should be quite fruitful.
