Biphasic Sleep: Post Mortem

I finished the Biphasic Sleep Experiment 4 days ago.  I have since slept 2 nights monophasic and 2 more nights biphasic.  Here is what I think after having experienced both. After 2 days of monophasic my midday lul (around 1:30 – 3 pm) decreased.  I wasn’t as tired, and after getting up and moving a bit it seemed almost non-existant, as compared to biphasic.  But without my afternoon/evening nap, I got tired much earlier than usual, around 1 am instead of 4 am.  And instead of waking up early like I always did during biphasic (without trouble) I slept in and ended up sleeping for about...

Biphasic Sleep: Days 28, 29, and 30
This morning ended the last day of the biphasic experiment.  The last few days were not only easy, they didn’t feel like an experiment at all.  It has become a lifestyle habit, one that I will find hard to give up (should I choose to).  I have been more productive these last 30 days, and I have even watched a little tv or played video games throughout the 30 days (something I rarely ever do, since  I have no time). My diet has been stable throughout the entire experiment, although the times which I became hungry were a little different.  I’m not hungry for breakfast till about 10:30...

Biphasic Sleep: Days 22-27

Biphasic Sleep: Days 22-27
So the days are now routine, I have no problems going to sleep when I need to or waking up.  My midday ‘lul’ is something I’m still adjusting to, but I’ve found that if I’m eating during that time I tend to have a better time staying awake.  The hardest part of the experiment so far has been getting out of bed on the weekends at scheduled time.  It’s not that I’m too tired, but there is nothing forcing me out of bed, and my bed is just so warm and comfy. I have only 3 days left of the Biphasic sleep experiment.  The Universal Man sleep...

Biphasic Sleep: Days 17-21

Biphasic Sleep: Days 17-21
The days are starting to become stantard.  Other than the fact that I’m awake for 4 hours or so wheen most people are sleeping, I feel relatively normal  with biphasic sleep.  I’ve experienced something quite new in my biphasic experiment.  Yesterday evening I worked out and then hung out with friends, completely forgeting about my nap.  It wasn’t until about 1 am that I remembered, but I figured it was too late to take a nap, considered I would only wake up for 1.5  hours before going to sleep again.  I decided I would just go to bed 1.5 hours early, and still get the 4.5...

Biphasic Sleep: Days 15 & 16

Biphasic Sleep: Days 15 & 16
This morning ended day 16 of the biphasic sleep experiment.  Things are becoming pretty routine now.  I haven’t had many problems the last few days, other than changing the time of my 1.5 hour nap. It turns out that waking up at 7am for work, then having summer class from 12 pm – 3 pm is pretty exhausting business.  The last 2 days I came home around 4 pm and slept till 5:30 pm.  Upon waking I stayed up till 4 am before sleeping again.  This schedule seems to fit better, at least while in summer school.  We’ll see how I adapt after it’s over (assuming I’m still doing...
